What We've Doneby design

Milton Wilson Blvd (Arlington, TN)

PHD provided civil engineering design services for a 1.2 mile segment of Milton Wilson Boulevard from Airline Road to Chester Street.  Milton Wilson Boulevard is 4-lane urban roadway with a median, on-street bike lanes and sidewalks.  This project was the first use of on-street bike lanes in the Town.  The design also included installation of a box culvert over a blue-line stream with an ARAP permit required.  The project included modifications to the traffic signal at Milton Wilson Boulevard & Airline Road (a previous PHD project) to accommodate the new road.  PHD provided design services and SSR provided CEI services.

PHD provided design services for the following STP funded projects. This included submittals of construction plans and all bid documents to TDOT for review and approval.

  • Milton Wilson Blvd. Middle - 4-lane urban roadway with median, bicycle and pedestrian facilities; this segment will complete the Milton Wilson collector road from Airline Road to Highway 70
  • Intersection Improvements & Signalization at Airline Road & Milton Wilson Road; included mast arm signals and count down timers for crosswalks.  Fisher & Arnold served as a subconsultant on this project.

PHD also prepared Categorical Exclusion (CE) environmental documents for approval by TDOT & FHWA for:

  • Milton Wilson Blvd. North - new 5-lane roadway
  • Airline & Milton Wilson Blvd. Intersection Improvements
  • Milton Wilson Blvd. Middle
