Arlington Municipal & Recreational Improvements

PHD serves as the Town Engineer for the Town of Arlington and provided civil engineering design services for the following projects.

  • Enhanced the town’s historic Depot Square with improved streets and drainage, incorporating decorative sidewalk and crosswalk treatments to create a pedestrian-centered atmosphere.
  • Connected Depot Square to the Forrest Street Campus to the east.
  • Developed The Campus to house a farmer’s market and The Crossing, an amphitheater that accommodates over 300 people. The Crossing was envisioned as a community gathering place to host special town traditions like Arlington’s Music on the Square. The Campus is further connected to the east to Forrest Street Park, which includes a concession and restroom pavilion, eight soccer fields, a tot lot playground, community garden, small lake and walking trail.
  • Increased parking by 150 additional spaces to serve the new facilities

The total construction costs for these projects was approximately $8M.
